Andy Murray and Kim Sears newborn baby girl will be called Sophia Olivia Murray, according to a family friend speaking with The Daily Mail.
Since the birth of his first child on February 7th, Murray and his family has understandably kept out of the media limelight. Sophia weighed in at 8lb and 10oz on her arrival. According to Murray’s grandmother, Shirley Erskine, none of the family knew about the sex of the baby before her arrival.
“Andy and Kim said from the outset that they didn’t want to know, so I’m assuming that they didn’t know and of course none of us knew, so it was nice to get a little surprise like that”. She told the media.
Murray has taken a month off the tour to be with his wife and daughter. The two-time Grand Slam champion plans to return to action on March 4th in Great Britain’s opening Davis Cup tie against Japan in Birmingham.
“I’ll definitely be playing the tie against Japan, that’s for sure, and then after that we’ll have to see what happens with my schedule.” Murray said at the end of last year.
In 2015 Murray guided Great Britain to their first Davis Cup title since 1936. This year the world No.2 is expected to be less committed to the Davis Cup due to his scheduling arrangements and the Rio Olympics in August.
