Roger Federer decided to make a little confession right before the start of the 2016 season. The 17-time Grand Slam champion just few years ago starred in a brilliant advertisement for Gillette where he would manage to pull off a trick-shot incredibly hard to perform. A young man would put on a bottle, then a can and finally an apple on top of his head and Roger would manage to aim at the object on the man’s head hitting the target with his serve without a single miss.

Just to further understand how hard of a shot that is to make, here are some failed imitations performed by Maria Sharapova and Andy Murray:
Well, now we know that wasn’t true!
In an interview with Stade 2, Federer was asked by Céline Géraud if his shot was real or faked. Roger responded with an embarrassed laugh. When the journalist analysed the trick as a well-made fake, Roger replied saying: “Yes it is very well made indeed”.
Finally, pressured to speak the truth, Federer concluded saying:
“It is possible that I am able to make that shot, but in this case it wasn’t really real…”
