Milos Raonic is looking forward to his seasonal debut at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships at the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports Centre where he will play against Kevin Anderson in a match between two big servers. The winner of this match will take on Stan Wawrinka.
“I have only heard positive things about this tournament and the city of Abu Dhabi. Looking at the line-up it is for sure going to be a challenging few days. It’s really great to be able to test yourself against world-class opponents before the new season and to play in new places, so I can’t wait to get ready for business. Hopefully I will get to see a lot of Canadian flags in the stands, and although it’s still early, I will definitely be looking for a strong performance”, said Raonic.
Raonic, who is now ranked World Number 14, is looking forward to the upcoming 2016 season with great confidence. “I am excited for 2016. I am still young and I am still improving and it’s only been two years since I broke into the world’s top 10. My target is to add to my five ATP titles and to climb the rankings even further but it’s also an Olympic year and I am keen to do well in Rio. Hopefully Abu Dhabi can be the catalyst that I need to prepare for a big year”
The Mubadala World Tennis Championships which starts on 31st December will featurre a star-studded line-up which includes 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafa Nadal, 2015 French Open champion Stan Wawrinka, David Ferrer and Jo Wilfried Tsonga.
