Brazilian Marcelo Melo and Croatian Ivan Dodig came back from a set down to edge Czech team formed by Tomas Berdych an Radek Stepanek 4-6 6-3 10-8 to reach the final of the BNP Paribas Masters 1000 in Paris Bercy. They will face Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock who defeated Dominic Inglot and Robert Lindstedt 7-6 (8-6) 6-1.
Melo, who will end the year ranked number 1 in the ATP doubles Ranking, is bidding to win his sixth doubles title this year after Acapulco, the Roland Garros (his first Grand Slam doubles title won together with Ivan Dodig), Tokyo, Shanghai, Vienna.
Dodig and Melo will move up from fourth to third after reaching the final in Paris Bercy.
Pospisil and Sock are just one win away from securing their spot at the ATP Finals doubles tournament at the O2 Arena in London. They must win the Paris Bercy double to keep alive their chance to qualify for London. If the Canadian/US American team wins the Paris Bercy title, they will overtake Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea for the eighth and final spot. In the quarter final in Paris Bercy Pospisil and Sock beat US Twin brothers Mike and Bob Bryan 7-6 (7-3) 6-4.
Pospisil and Sock won the Wimbledon doubles title in 2014. This year they clinched two titles titles at Indian Wells beating Italian duo formed by Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini and in Beijing beating Daniel Nestor and Edouard Roger Vasselin.
