David Goffin is confident ahead of the eagerly awaited Davis Cup Final at the Flanders Arena in Ghent despite his 6-1 6-0 against Andy Murray in the second round in Paris Bercy. Goffin could face again Murray when Belgium will face the British team in the Belgian town. Belgium will play in a Davis Cup Final for the first time since 1904, while Great Britain will be bidding to win their first Davis Cup since 1936.
“I will use the next two weeks to prepare well for the Davis Cup final and to adjust to the red clay. In Paris Bercy I was very tired. My body did not respond to my intentions. In the Davis Cup I will be ready and it will be another story. I am confident that I will be ready for the fight”, said Goffin.
