There is no stopping Novak Djokovic right now. After dropping only two games in the opening round of the China Open against Simone Bolelli, the Serb has now brushed past local favourite Ze Zhang. The match took less than an hour as Djokovic demolished the Chinese wildcard 6-2, 6-1.
Ranked 219, Zhang posted an impressive win in the first round against Denis Istomin but taking on the world number 1 proved far too much of a challenge and he hardly managed to bother Djokovic who was in cruise control for the entire match.
Djokovic only dropped 31 points in the entire encounter and may see himself tested further in the quarter finals where he has a potential match up with John Isner, although the American first has to get past John Millman, who claimed an impressive comeback win in the first round against Tommy Robredo.
Fabio Fognini and Pablo Cuevas will also be in the last eight after overcoming David Goffin and Ivo Karlovic respectively.
