Marcelo Melo will be World No.1 in doubles for the first time starting on Monday October 26, when the new ATP World Tour rankings will be released.
Pairing with Kubot in the ATP 500 tournament of Vienna, Melo beat Wimbledon champions Rojer-Tecau to ensure the top ranking in doubles starting on Monday. Marcelo will overtake the Bryan brothers on top of the rankings.
The Brazilian won his first doubles Grand Slam title this year at the French Open, beating the Bryans in the final.
