Despite looking for a fresh start under Franco Davin, things are yet to go as the Bulgarian had hoped. A quarter final exit against Benjamin Becker in Malaysia and a first round defeat at he hands of Benoit Paire in Japan seem to have been too much for Dimitrov, who has pulled out of Shanghai without citing any apparent reasons.
It is thought that the Bulgarian wants a bit of time to disconnect from the game and reflect on such a crucial moment of his career. Stockholm, Basel and the Paris Masters still appear on his calendar, as Dimitrov will aim to rebuild some confidence at the end of the season before 2016.
Dimitrov joins Juan Monaco, Florian Mayer and Gael Monfils as withdrawals from Shanghai.
