TENNIS – Roger Federer announced through twitter that his wife Mirka gave birth to Leo and Lenny. They are the second couple of twins in the former world number 1’s family. His manager Godsick said about the Swiss’ schedule,“Roger has plans to play the French Open, and he’ll take it step-by-step as to what he plays before that.” Diego Sampaolo
As the tournament progresses, Roger Federer, twice winner in Madrid in 2009 and 2012, has pulled out of the Mutua Madrid Open to stay with his wife Mirka who gave birth two twins Lenni and Leo.
Federer posted a message on twitter: “Mirka and I are incredibly happy to share that Leo and Lenni were born this evening”. Leo and Lenni add to a first pair of twins Charlene and Myla who were born on 23th July 2009.
This morning Federer posted a message on his Facebook page announcing his withdrawal from Madrid. “I have decided to withdraw from Madrid to be with my wife during these next few exciting weeks for our family. I apologize to my fans and I hope to be in Madrid next year. I will be training my home and I am excited to rejoin the Tour soon”
