Q: Does it makes any difference to be one of the top guys now?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Strange, but all better things. I am still trying to improve my games and win as much as I can, the difference now is that when I come into a tournament I know I can beat all the players and then you have to do ti. Let’s try to focus match after match and try to be ready for the next one.
Q: You used to say that clay was your best surface but you have a lot of success on the hard court as well. What do you feel now, is clay the one you like best?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: It’s just that I grow up on clay. Until 19 I was playing only clay tournament, that’s why it’s my best surface for so many years. But on the court you have a lot of tournaments on hard court and I start to learn and I improve my game a lot. I am happy to play on every surface and I think I can play my best game on every surface, but I am always happy to come back on the clay. I don’t need 2 days of practice, like in Montecarlo, and I was playing my best game: that’s the difference, on clay I know that there are less player I am scared to play.
Q: You say you’re happy on every surface, does it includes grass?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: I love to play grass. I really enjoy to play there even if I didn’t have some good result in the past few years. It’s so short, normally I don’t play tournament before but this year I am positive for this year and I am sure I can make some good result.
