TENNIS Internazionali BNL d’Italia – S. Williams d. S. Zhang 6-1, 6-3. An interview with Serena Williams
Q:Not a bad match neither tonight…how good do you feel here?
SERENA WILLIAMS: This courts are super slow and you have a lot of time to make your shots and go for it.
Q:Is it slower than Paris?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I am not sure but Paris get slower cause of the weather but this one is definitely super comparable.
Q:How’s next, did you prepare for revenge?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I hate to go for revenge, I just go for the match and do as much as I can, if I win great if I don’t I am going to get ready the next couple of weeks. I thought about that match but now I am in different stage of my life and I just want to focus on the right things and I think this is what matters now.
Q:Did you recall a time in your career when revenge was in your mind?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I think….often I guess, whenever you play and you lose you don’t necessarily think about revenge, you just thinking ‘I really want to win’, she beats me last time. It’s not about revenge, it’s more about motivation. They got the best on you and when you show them you can play too. She played great in that match, injured or not, and she deserves to win. I just think….i tried to learn from that and try to do better.
Q:Do you ever watch matches where you lose?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I used to as a punishment but I can’t stomached about it anymore.
