Q: How’s it to win a match even if you’re not playing your best tennis?
GRIGOR DIMITROV: You’ll never know how good you feel at the start of a tournament, what kind of confidence you have. First one or two matches are always, for myself, the trickiest matches to play and to look forward to. Coming from Madrid there’ a very different atmosphere: the balls are different, the court, the environment is all different. Everyone has to getting accustomed to everything there is around and at the end of the day you always feel that there’s something missing and that’s way we try different things, try to make sure to come out of the court and do the best you can. Today that’s what happened with me. In the first set I had too many chances to take the lead, but didn’t discourage at all. I thought that despite the fact I was not playing good I had to find my rhythm, that was my main goal, and eventually at the third set I got the momentum and I took it.
Q: Maybe because you have a problem with your right hand?
GRIGOR DIMITROV: No, no problem. We don’t have white towels, they’re new and they don’t absorb any sweat. Three or four times I was about to lose my racquet. I asked several times but they told me ‘we don’t have it’.
